Beyoncé Super Bowl Halftime Show

Corvette Stingray + Superstar

What Happened at Super Bowl XLVII?

Once upon a time, the new Corvette Stingray was supposed to make its world debut with a certain performer at a certain football halftime show. I was tapped for an intense 24/7 production to create a performance intro.

The Stingray segue was shot in downtown LA and at a giant aircraft assembly hangar in Long Beach. Crazy VFX were rendered. Fantastic props were built. Dozens of extras were brought in. Smoke machines were turned on. The star called my cell to discuss edits. Exclusive behind-the-scenes content was captured and ready to roll online.

Then suddenly, within mere hours of the live performance, the axe fell from the halftime show’s Official Sponsor. There was to be no “non-official” product in their multi-million dollar spectacle. Good day. And just like that it was all over. I went to Palm Springs for a few days of free-fall and tried to make sense of what just happened…
